Prototype Academy is a training programme for football athletes, run by Prototype Sports Group in Montreal, Quebec. This policy explains what the Prototype Academy app and website collect, why, who can see it, and how to get it changed or deleted.
Most of our athletes are under 18. That shapes everything below. We collect only what the programme needs to coach them, we do not sell any of it, and we show no advertising.

We do not collect location data, we do not track athletes across other apps or websites, and we do not use advertising identifiers.
Coaching staff can see the full profile, testing results, game statistics, attendance, check-ins and progress photographs of the athletes in the units they coach. They cannot see athletes outside those units.
Other athletes in the programme can see a limited profile: name, position, graduation year, city and province or state, height, weight, profile photo, and the Instagram handle or film link only if that athlete chose to share them. They cannot see testing results, game statistics, check-ins, progress photographs, academic information, email address or phone number.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share it outside the programme only when an athlete or their family asks us to — for example sending a profile to a college coach — or where the law requires it.
Where an athlete is under 18, a parent or guardian signs a waiver when the athlete is registered for the programme. That signature is the consent for the collection described here. The app account itself is claimed afterwards by the athlete, using a one-time code issued to them by a coach — an account cannot be created without one.
A parent or guardian may, at any time and for any reason, ask us to show them everything we hold about their child, correct it, delete it, or withdraw consent and close the account. Write to info@linebackerprototype.com and we will act on it within 30 days.
Progress photographs deserve a specific note. They are optional — an athlete can use every part of the app without ever taking one. They are visible only to that athlete and to their own coaching staff. They are never shown to teammates, never used in marketing, and never published anywhere.
Data is stored with Supabase on servers located in Canada (ca-central-1). Push notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service; Apple receives the notification text and the device token, and nothing else. The apps are hosted by Netlify.
We keep an athlete's information for as long as they are enrolled in the programme, and for up to 24 months afterwards so that a returning athlete keeps their history and so we can answer recruiting requests. After that it is deleted. A parent, guardian, or an athlete over 18 can ask for deletion sooner.

Accounts are password-protected and every request is checked against the permissions of the account making it, so an athlete can reach their own information and their unit's roster and nothing further. Traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfect, and we will tell affected families promptly if we ever discover a breach that puts their information at risk.
The app has chat. Any athlete can block another user and report a message or a person from inside the app. Reports go to coaching staff, who review them. We do not tolerate harassment, threats, or sexual content, and accounts that produce it are removed from the programme.
If we change what we collect or who can see it, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
